The roof is nearly ready to go on!!
The cabin has moved on very fast since the kit arrived just over 2 weeks ago. The whole structure is now up and you can see everything very clearly, which is amazing since we seem to have been looking at plans for ages. The stain glass window was ordered this week and it will be fantastic I am sure, and be the whole focal point of the cabin. The cost of the window was much higher than had been initially thought, so we will need to keep fundraising hard. There is a fundraising event in Livingston on Friday 31st October at 8pm at Lanthorn,Kenilworth Rise,Dedridge, tickets costing £4.50. If you stay on the mainland, or fancy a night away, then I am sure everyone will be made more than welcome. Thank you to all who are taking the time to organise this event. Our wee friend Katie, is doing well just now, last week she was allowed out of isolation and had some time with her wee sister, the first time they have seen each other in 6 weeks. Katie still has a long journey ahead of her, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you again to everyone who has got us to this stage

The Kit has arrived!!!
The kit arrived on Wednesday of last week, in the pouring rain, what an arrival. It was captured on film by the BBC and we would like to thank everyone who has helped to get it here and to the stage it is at just now, only 6 weeks since the start of the build. A lot of people think that this is the exciting bit, and it is, but to us the families arriving, being able to help wee faces smile and make memories will be to us what it is all about. Thanks this week also to the individuals who are spreading the word, nationally!!, Calums Cabin now has collecting cans in a variety of places including Edinburgh, Glasgow,Irvine and new ones in Rutherglen this week, thank you, all the wee pennies fair mount up and will make such a difference. This coming week, hopefully we will see another improvement in the build, have final meetings with the stain glass window man, and get our interior designer together with our architect. Everything is moving at a very fast pace, thank you all for that.

Great Scot Awards
As many of you know, Jenna had been shortlisted from thousands of people for the Sunday Mail Great Scot Award. The award ceremony was on Saturday night in Glasgow. It was a lovely evening and there were so many deserving people there. We were privileged enough to be sitting beside Jennifer Foster and her husband Dan, she had donated 60% of her liver to save her husbands life in January of this year, she won an unsung heroes award. On the other side we had Gemma Atkinson, from Hollyoaks and I’m a celebrity get me out of here. The awards for all the categories were given out throughout the evening, and the last award was for the Great Scot, there were 6 shortlisted candidates left, all really deserving the award, and then all of a sudden, they started to show a picture of the ferry sailing into Rothesay bay, and announced Jenna was the award winner, we were taken aback, and Jenna went on stage and made a wonderful speech, we are all so proud of her and all that she has achieved. Thank you to everyone who joined us on the evening and made us feel really at ease, it was a great way of meeting so many people and spreading the word about…
