Thought I would suprise you all this week, by updating a day early!!! Thanks this week to all businesses who have come forward with the offer of help when the families start to come, and with vouchers for our first family in February. Calum’s Cabin ribbons, for those of you who didn’t purchase one the first time around, are now on sale again at Ettrick Bay and the local Co-op, priced at just £1 they are a bargain, and look great on any jacket or coat!! The events are starting again, Duncan and I have a burns supper in Glasgow, and then we have been asked to another fundraising dinner in Falkirk, this is great since it shows the name “Calum’s Cabin” is becoming well known all over. Please remember, if anyone reading this, knows of a family who needs a break, even although we are not fully up and running, please email us and we will do our best to get the familiy here as soon as possible. We are only too aware, that as each day passes another 5 children are diagnosed and sadly another child is lost. We can help make happy memories, please contact us. Again, no running total, sorry. Thanks for all your hard work, keep it up!!!

Here we are in January. As I said previously, we are coming to our first years end. Our accounts are now with our accountant, and therefore I will be unable to keep a running total just now. Thank you to all who are continuing to support “Calum’s Cabin”, whether it be by monthly standing order, match funding, collection cans, or by organising/attending events. Thank you all. Our first family is coming at the beginning of February, they will stay in a holiday let, which has been kindly donated until the start of the holiday season. Thank you. In that regard, could we ask any business/resturaunt/cafe/hotel wishing to donate vouchers etc please let us know before the end of January. This would be a lovely gesture, as we know how strapped for cash some of these families might be. Thank you all once again. Events are being organised now, and we will have more details in the coming weeks. Thanks again.

Good afternoon to you all. Sorry that we haven’t updated on our weekly way, but this week, Jenna and I have been struck down with flu, so here we are a few days late. We wish you all a very happy Christmas, and hope that you all had a good time. We didn’t send any cards this year, however, thank you to all who sent us good wishes. May we take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and everything that everyone has done for us over the past 10 months. You have all been truely amazing. What I would have said is this week’s total is £152,303.01, however that was last weeks. when I didn’t update!!!!!!! So this weeks is £153,945.58. Wishing you all a good 2008 and here’s to our first family coming soon hopefully. The events are getting orgainised already for more fundraising events, so keep your diaries to the ready, and as the old song says “The show must go on”, so here we go. Take care. Will update again in 2008.

Thank you this week to everyone who came to our party night on Saturday and supported us. A great night was had and thanks to all who bought and donated raffle prizes and also those who bought items at the auction. Also all those who helped and performed on Saturday night. Our accountant has asked that anyone who has any monies outstanding, i.e. from events held, or sponsored events, could they please give them to us or pay them directly into The Royal Bank of Scotland by 31st December so he can complete the end of year return for the charities commission. Thanks. We haven’t sent any Christmas cards this year, however, we wish you all a merry christmas and thank you all for all your kind wishes and gestures over this period. The total this week stands at £151,301.02.

Party Nite!!!!
Thanks this week to all who have given in any way, I can’t name all the ways, but thanks so much, whether it’s having events, paying by standing order, giving in a collecting can daily, giving instead of Christmas or Birthday pressies, getting match funding, anyway thanks. Thank you to all who have bought tickets already for Saturday night, there are still tickets left to be had and I would urge anyone who is still thinking about coming to please come along and support us and have a great night out, make it a party night, make it a friends night, make it a family get together night, make it whatever you want, just enjoy please, that’s the name of the game. Thanks to all who have put Calum’s Cabin stickers on their Christmas cards, this is great and really spreads the word. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday - this weeks total stands at £148,973.83.

Advent - the days until the party are ticking!!!
Good Evening, all you Calum’s Cabin followers. We have had another really busy and very productive week at Calum’s Cabin. Thanks this week must go to all who made, collected, sold and purchased items at the weekend at our two Christmas Fair’s. Sunday was a really busy day, but it was great and we got to blether to so many people, thank you all so much. Thank you also to those of you who have donated to Calum’s Cabin instead of purchasing Christmas Cards and stamps, it is really amazing when you add up what all that costs. Thank you all so much. Also to those people who have given instead of Christmas presents to some relatives (those who like us all have everything that we could possibly need). What a lovely and very rewarding idea. Thank you. Tomorrow (Tuesday) we have a meeting with the BBC, regarding the film that they are proposing to make of “Calum’s Cabin” for Children in Need next year. This is a huge thing for us, and Calum would have been fair chuffed I am sure. The tickets for the “Party Nite” are still going, remember any of you who haven’t purchased yet, they are still available from Musicka, Print Point, Maison Gina, Pokey Hat, Stewart and Lisa’s Newsagents, The…
