Can anyone match fund?
Hi, another really busy week. Thank you to all who helped, donated, purchased ,ran and organised yesterdays Fun Run. The weather was absolutely wonderful and a wonderful day was had by all. Our friend “dunno” made a surprise visit on Friday, it was great to see him and he brought with him Erin’s Cd ,with her and her friend singing Hiliary Duff’s song “what dreams are made of”, Cd’s are £5 and anyone wanting to buy one, please just let me know by email or in person. They are lovely and I would recommend them. We have also been asked this week, where people can donate direct, so the details are, The Royal Bank of Scotland,37 Victoria Street, Rothesay, or direct to ourselves at “Calenna”,61 Mountstuart Road, Rothesay, Isle of Bute. PA20 9LD We also this week, would like to thank all individuals who have arranged match funding. This is a wonderful idea that large companies get involved in. If an individual or group of employees are part of a fundraising event, then the employer will match them pound for pound. So if anyone reading this, works for a large company then please ask about match funding. We can help with any details that are required once the event that they have taken place in has…

£60,000 barrier!!!!
Well, the title says it all, how wonderful is that, and it’s all thanks to you all. Thank you so much to each and every person, today’s total stands at £60,550.28!!! Isn’t that just amazing. We had a wonderful concert in musica on Sunday night, all the local artists were superb. Thanks to everyone who supported this event together with the other concerts and events that were happening this weekend also. Thanks also to all who did sponsor walks and climbs this weekend together with all who ran on Sunday at a variety of locations, and those who took part in sponsored swims, just think thanks to Calum you are all now much healthier and fitter!!! I wrote last week about a CD that is being released on 18th November, by Billy McIssac, these are christmas songs for children and are all written by Billy himself, we heard them for the first time today and they are really short and beautiful, so as I said before, a wee thing for all your Christmas stockings. Talking of CD’s, a fellow Yorkhill warrier, a very good friend of Calums, Erin Geddes has released a CD of Hilary Duff songs, with all proceeds coming to Calums Cabin. Erin is 10 years old, and was diagnosed at the same time…

Legal work
Another busy week, and as I say every week, where does the time go between updating each week. Thank you all again so much for your time and effort in everything that you do, either fundraising or donating or just reading the web to keep updated you are all great. Last week saw all the legal work getting started for the hopeful purchase of Calum’s Cabin. We need to make sure that all the t’s are crossed and the i’s are dotted, before we agree to anything, so that is out of our hands now and being looked after by our Solicitor. Even although we are still a bit away from the purchase of the cabin, we thought it was a good idea to get plans and sites looked at in advance. When we are dealing with someone elses money then we have to make doubly sure everything is hunky doorey!! The fundraising events are still happening and still being organsied, thank you all who are hardworking behind the scenes, it takes a lot of organising, to pull events off,so thank you very much, as well as a thank you to all who support events and sponsor people. We are standing at £57,127.79,amazing, hopefully before we know it, it will be a new headline on…

Our concert on Friday night was great and Kenneth’s skills on the piano were fab, which was equally matched by Joyce’s voice. It was a lovely night, although quite quiet, mainly because other events were being held on the Island at the same time. Thanks to all who attended and arranged the event. This week sees us back to more letter writing, and chasing up any gift aid forms that are still outstanding, so if you have one please return it as soon as possible!!!!, it’s an extra 28p for every £1 donated. Thanks again to all who ran at the weekend, you super fit people!!!Also thanks to all who daily put change into collecting cans, the amounts that are raised through cans are absolutely unbelievable. We have had an awsome week, thank you at the start of the week to all who now have set up standing orders and direct debits, the 1st of the month has taken on a whole new meaning for us!!! Anyone who is interested in this idea, please contact us direct and we can advise you of the sorting code and bank account number, it is a wonderful idea and once the cabin is up and running will help to pay for the running costs, so thank you. We would again like to thank all individuals, clubs, businesses and societies for their support this week ,whether it is a bag of pennies or a wonderful cheque, they are all warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated.
