Duke of Edinburgh volunteers visit us on Bute...

Recently we have had some of 1st Kirkmuirhill Girls' Brigade members over volunteering for Calum's Cabin so they can gain hours towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award. The girls have been involved in lots of different tasks, helping them to gain lots of new skills such as leadership, independence, using initiative
and social skills.

On the first day the girls took on one of toughest, ongoing jobs - sorting our garage store.  We are lucky to have donations coming to our charity shop regularly and we need these organised and sorted into seasons so we can put these into the shop at the right time.  They spent the day organising everything to be easily accessible and ready to be sold in our shop.

On their next visit, the girls helped us in our office pricing our Official Calums Cabin shop stock and doing some events preparation.

On their last visit, the girls got the opportunity to redesign our shop window display, using a festival theme ahead of Bute Fest on 26-28 July 2019.

It has definitely been noticed that no task is too big or too small for these girls! They have shown such enthusiasm, dedication and a positive attitude towards all of
the tasks they have been given and can't wait to welcome them back over in the next few weeks.

Thank you and keep going girls!
