Keeping our Calum's Cabin family safe during COVID-19

An update

Alongside the trustees of Calum's Cabin, we have been closely monitoring the ongoing situation with the Corona Virus COVID-19 outbreak and given the duty of care we have to ensure the heath and welfare of all our families, volunteers and supporters, we have taken the very sad decision to cancel all family holidays to Calum's Cabin, Calum's Cabin Cottage, Mountstuart and Dumfries House until the end of June. Due to the exceptional circumstances, this also means that our events and the charity shop will remain closed during this period. We have never faced a situation quite like this in our history and we know that we are not alone; every organisation will be facing their own challenges as we do our best to behave responsibly at this time.

We have now been in touch with all families, volunteers and supporters who it will impact and we apologise again for any disappointment caused. We know that some of our families are already in the midst of a challenging time and for those, the risk of infection could be life-changing. Please keep our families in your thoughts at this time. We hope that we can support families with a holiday at some point in the next year because we know how much our families look forward to their break and that they need this too.

We thank everyone for their understanding and appreciate all the love and support that has been shown and offered. Due to the cancellation of vital fundraising events, we expect this to have a significant impact on us as a smaller charity. If you are able to support us at this time and we know that that won't be possible for everyone, we would be extremely grateful.

Please look after one another and stay safe

Caroline, Duncan and Jenna Speirs
